Keep Believing

Today's blog comes from a very hopeful perspective on life.

(preface - downer moods from others put me in a reflective one lol... watch out peeps. You may be the inspiration for a blog. Consider yourself warned)

Day in and day out, one can be torn down, beaten, discouraged, unapproved, and misled. Times like these make it hard to find it inside ones self to be happy, and BELIEVE the world isn't out to get you.

I have no clue how some can find not ONE thing in a day to make them happy and feel that it has not been worth the effort of rolling out of bed in the morning. Relating to the "hater" mentality I confess that I do have those days where I'm moody, sad, or simply lack motivation. I'm a HUMAN, it happens!

I find things to be happy about everyday, be it the fact that I didn't have to wait too long in line to get that darn cup of coffee (a habit still trying to kick), a call from my family, or a cheery disposition of a friend saying hello during the day.

Every day does not have to have fireworks to be a good one. The calm and relaxing ones are the normality and should be appreciated as well.

What keeps my relatively peppy personality going is the idea that life and my fellow humans are not all OUT TO GET ME! 99.99% of people enjoy a smile and hello from a friend just as much as you. If someone is mad at you the best choices on how to react all have one thing in common. The best ways to react DO NOT include lossing one's lid. Communication and understanding solve every situation. Now, saying that, a warning label needs to be added... Resolutions to a problem are not all ones of our choosing or ones that we like. But SUCH IS LIFE.

So the next time you feel sad, take a moment to think about this idea. If you are unhappy look at yourself first. You may just need to readjust your attitude. If after reflection you find that not all of the unhappiness spurs from you then you may just need to communicate with whatever actually IS.

In my final words I look to that plastic fish that had its coming out in the early 2000's.

ENJOY! :)

Foggy Day in Cedar Falls

Like most mornings I had slept through many "snoozed" alarms. However, once I arose, I discovered this day to be one that rarely seems to occur. The world outside my window seemed to stand still. A silence had swallowed the world and left me wondering. I opened my blind and the world was enveloped in a thick fog.

All forms of light were dampened by the fog keeping everything dark and calm. I can never truly explain my love affair with foggy days except to say this:

When it is foggy out, the world gets quiet. Nothing really seems to matter much and the hustle and fast pace of everyday seems to become pointless. Fog is peaceful, romantic, and reminds me of my second home... Scotland.

I can not wait till I return some day.

After stepping off the bus this morning and making my way toward work I realized I had my camera in my bag, (random) so I decided to take full advantage of the environment.

I will upload more photos as I can but I hope this one works for now:

** I suppose this entry is just a note to all. Stop! Just Stop once in a while to let life take your breath away. We get carried away in hurrying to do the next thing and we miss the amazing moments that can last a lifetime.
