There is nothing like the feeling of blowing something out of the water. That sense of accomplishment one feels can leave them elated and unapologetic in their beaming smile. My day, can be described as nothing less. After making progress at work, being given one of the best groups for a project, and having a generally social and interactive sociology class, I thought my first official lesson would just be alright. Honestly, wondering how I could top my days beginning, I walked into my classroom full of students and just "did my thang!"
When talking with my amazing classroom of students I felt more as if I was explaining the lesson to a friend. My students were really engaged in the content and we kept it simple and easy. My planning ahead of time really helped but more than that, this was finally my chance to just get where I belong. I wasn't stuck sitting in a desk observing... I was taking the reigns and teaching/ learning right alongside my kids. FABULOUS DAY!!!
To top it off, I received glowing reviews from my mentor teacher, and let me tell you... he's a tough sell.
I am beaming with joy, happiness, exhilaration... and any other word you can assimilate with satisfaction. And to top it off, I came home today to my room smelling like roses and Lilly.
